10-mon drywall pictures

Some pictures of the work done that day... The two drywall guys spent over 12 hours here. I marked all the things I wanted done with little pieces of blue painter's tape. They were thorough and very careful, covering everything with plastic painter's dropcloths. They vacuumed up when they were done.
Since we chose to paint the house, I'll have to touch-up all the custom paint colors tomorrow. Where the paint was still "builder's white", like the ceilings, they did the painting.
There was another guy that came over and redid the moulding on the baseboard of the back staircase, and he also repaired a crack in the ceiling drywall on the 2nd floor, where I had misstepped while in the attic a couple of weeks ago, and I partially damaged the ceiling drywall by stepping down off the attic platform by mistake. That they didn't have to do, but did it anyway which was very nice.

  1. That's great that they fixed something that they didn't have to.

  3. Mike...would love to see pictures after the touch up painting is complete. My wife and I keep bouncing back and forth whether to paint when we first move in or wait until the house has a chance to settle and the nails have finished their popping. Our biggest fear is that the touched up painting just won't look as nice. I am hoping yours looks great because I am not sure I want to live with white walls all over the place for almost a year.

  4. We would recommend doing the custom painting when you want, sooner rather than later. Our neighbor left their house in white and it's so boring looking. We feel the paint helped to really put our stamp on the house and we love the colors that we chose. Many people have complimented us on the paint. By the way, we used expensive paint, Benjamin Moore Aura. Janice's former brother-in-law has been in the painting business for many years, and we chose him and his guys to do the work over several weekends. They did a nice job.
The touch-ups are going to be relatively minor I think. I'm going to Lowe's tomorrow to get a new roller and some blue painter's tape, and will start the touch-ups. I don't think it's going to be a problem, but I will definitely post pictures so you can see.
